Winter has arrived at the northern seabuckthorn experiment site. Yesterday the snow and ice blanketed the area and this morning the beauty of the area was breathtaking.
The plants here have lost all of their leaves and seem to be otherwise in good condition. The buds are formed and attached firmly ready for spring growth.
Close view of snow and ice on field. Update - 12-28-2012 18 inches of snow added.
Mid December and the river should be frozen over completely by tomorrow morning with the temperatures dipping to below 11 degrees F.
